Preparation of Distance Measurement from the Wheel Center
In order to ensure the precise application of the CSC-Tool Digital (2023) for the distance measurement from the wheel center, the following steps are necessary beforehand:
- Attach the wheel clamp modules SE to the rear wheels (see section Attaching the Wheel Clamp Modules SE / WA to the Rear Wheels.
- Attach the wheel clamps "Distance" to the front wheels (see section Attaching the Wheel Clamp Module "Distance" to the Front Wheels.
- Position the CSC-Tool Digital (2023) centered in front of the vehicle.
- Switch on the laser modules of the wheel clamp module SE.
- Switch on both laser distance meters.
- Align the laser beam of the left wheel clamp module (green marking) and of the right wheel clamp module (red marking) to the reflection field of both wheel clamps "Distance". Adapt the following for that where necessary:
- • Height of the cross member
- • Height of the reflexion field
- • Move the laser distance meter horizontally along the cross member
- Now the distance values should appear on the projection screen.
- Align the laser beam of the wheel clamp module SE to the left and right mirror of the cross member. The laser beam shall be visible on the left and right scale of the cross member.
- The laser beam of the wheel clamp module SE is reflected in the mirrors of the cross member Spand shall be visible on the measuring scales of the wheel clamp modules SE at the rear wheels of the vehicle. Otherwise, adapt the following if necessary:
- • Height of the cross member
- • Height of the reflexion field at wheel clamp "Distance"
- • Height of the scales at the wheel clamp module SE
- Only if the following values can be read at the same time you can start with the precise positioning of the CSC-Tool Digital (2023) in front of the vehicle:
- • Distance between CSC-Tool Digital (2023) and vehicle at the projection screen
- • Measured value on the scales of the cross member
- • Measured value on the scales of the wheel clamp modules SE at the rear axle
