PassThru Troobleshooting

The following list will help you to solve minor problems yourself. Select the relevant problem description and check and perform the steps listed under Solution in sequence until the problem is solved.

Solution

The left row of arrows between the laptop/tablet and the HGS VCI is red. The second test does not start.

  • Check the connections of the USB cable and plug connections to the laptop/tablet and HG-VCI PC.
  • Check USB cable and plug connectors for damage.
  • Insert the USB cable and plug connectors correctly.
  • Disconnect the HG-VCI PC from the diagnostic connection of the vehicle. Remove the USB cable from the HG-VCI PC. Wait approx. 2 or 3 sec and then plug in the USB cable into the USB connection of the HG-VCI PC again. Insert the HG-VCI PC into the vehicle's diagnostic connection. Regard potential Windows messages. Repeat the communication test.

  • The HG-VCI PC is properly inserted in the vehicle's diagnostic connection.
  • Check if 12 V voltage supply through vehicle is ensured at pin 16 of the HG-VCI PC (HG-VCI PC may be defective).
  • Perform the VCI plug test.
