Performing Automatic Basic Settings

Wrong or incorrectly performed basic settings

Regard the following when performing basic settings:

- Select the correct vehicle type.

- Regard the window with information and instructions.

Proceed as follows to perform the automatic basic setting:

  1. Perform steps 1 to 11 as described in section Vehicle selection.

    Pulling off of the HG-VCI PC when actuating the clutch

    Proceed as follows before startup:

    1. Apply the parking brake.

    2. No gear is engaged.

    3. Regard the window with information and instructions.

    Danger of short circuit and voltage peaks when connecting the HG-VCI PC

    Danger of destruction of automotive electronics

    Switch off ignition before connecting the HG-VCI PC to the vehicle.

  4. Connect the HG-VCI PC to the vehicle's diagnostic connection.
  5. Both LEDs of the HG-VCI PC flash.
  6. The HG-VCI PC is ready for operation.
  7. Select Diagnostics > Function > Basic settings.

  9. Select the requested assembly.
  10. Select the requested system.
  11. Observe the information and instructions windows.
  12. Call up the >Information< tab.
  13. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  14. Start the automatic basic setting with .

  17. Communication to vehicle is being established.
  18. Select further sub-categories where necessary.
